Serre-Chevalier is well known for its very sunny and dry climate with s unshine over 300 days a year . Serre-Chevalier has a total of 68 lifts including 3 large cable cars, 6 gondolas, and 8 chair lifts of which triple, quads and high speed six seaters including one of the longest lifts in Europe. In addition, the resort has a large selection of smaller lifts perfectly adapted to beginners and small children. Many trails include snow-making equipment to ensure good connections between different areas of the vast domain.

The resort offers lots of variety including wide open downhill slopes, alpine trails through the forest, and cross-country paths as well as great off-trail skiing. The selection is limitless! «Eagle-Free» with its half pipe is great for snowboarders along with several trails designed for snowboard cross. For those that love the feeling of the great Nordic outdoors, we recommend exploring by foot or cross country skiing the valley of the Guisane river lined with 45 kilometers of local fir trees creating a charming traditional atmosphere of the winter alpine season!

For adverturers that likes bigger challenges, try local off-trail glacier skiing at “La Grave”, one of the main glaciers of the area. The cable car will leave you at an altitude of 3500 meters. Take advantage of the spectacular vertical drop of 2150 meters in a grandiose mountain setting. The recent site of the 2006 Olympic games in Turin, Italy (Sestrieres) is just under an hour away where you can ski a series of connecting trails referred to as “The Milky Way” starting in France at Mongenevre at 1850 meters extending across the numerous Italian villages and resorts surrounding Turin.
